Song Reference: Beatles – “All You Need Is Love”
While one would like to think that all you need is love to make a wedding happen, that isn’t the reality as most engaged couples find out. It is however a key ingredient to making a marriage successful, so don’t put it on the backburner over the next few months!!!
Here’s my top tips from listening to brides, wedding planners and of course the Internet!
#1 – Get a couple’s calendar system – While you can share google or apple icals, the process can be challenging and may not give you the full benefits of a dedicated program. I personally recommend a system that can host shared calendars & shopping lists and provides text alerts for both of you!! My personal favorite is Cozi – I used it for me and my husband and now with our littles, but there is a fee to upgrade, but that gives me unlimited calendar reminders which I love! Another one to try that is free for iOS SimplyUs.
#2 – Get a website (for free) There are a lot of places to get a free wedding website these days. WIX, MyWedding, The Knot, eWeddings, Joy and Say I Do all provide some beautiful templates are packed full of features and can manage everything from telling your love story, to managing RSVPs. Best of all it’s free and doesn’t make a dent on your wedding budget!
#3 – Get a dedicated email for your wedding stuff! As you start looking for vendors and locations, your wedding specific emails are going to start flooding your inbox. On top of that if you treat your personal email with a little less frequency or get a lot of shopping stuff it is easy to overlook that important email you need to get back to the wedding planner. Once you get the email make sure you set it up on your phone so you can see at a glance if you have received new emails!
