I am not a wedding DJ, but I am a DJ who loves weddings - what girl doesn't love weddings. But the fact that you get a whole group of family and friends together to celebrate all night long is my idea of an amazing time.
I do all my weddings through Hampton Entertainment. If you want to visit my page on Hampton and learn more about how we can help you throw the best wedding bash ever click here! HamptonEntertainment.com
How much should I budget for a DJ?
According to Martha Stewart, the Knot and other industry professionals, allotting 10% of your budget towards your music entertainment is the norm. If your budget is close to the National Average of $30K, 10% roughly the price of a tip is reasonable cost for something so impactful to the overall experience at your wedding. If you are doing it on a budget and closer to a $12K spend, you can do things to trim your entertainment budget like hiring the DJ for only the Reception to help keep you in line with budget.
However you do it, remember DJs set the tone and energy of an event and entertainment as the wedding party walks down the aisle until the last dance. A DJ should also keep an event running smoothly while staying flexible to the needs and wants of your guests all while the two of you are carefree dancing the night away.
